MONDO
CANE The original shockumentary made up of episodes in the life of man and beast, filmed all over the world- New Guinea. Germany, Singapore, Portugal, Australia. America, and beyond – a voyage one critic called “a hymn to death and mutilation embellished with a shrug and a giggle”. This travelogue presents what’s been billed as “scenes from our sweet, savage, sexy world” including Primitive tribes where women breastfeed their animals, far east restaurants that serve up ‘delicacies’, shark hunting and an “expose” into alcoholism and destitution. English Narration. Directed by Gualtiero Jacopetti. Narration by Gualtiero Jaeopel. Photo by Antonio Climati, Benito Frattar. Music by Nine Oliviero, Riz Ortolani. Italy 1961 color. |

MONDO CANE
PART 2 The original shockumentary sequel made up of episodes in the life of man and beast, filmed all over the world- New Guinea. Germany, Singapore, Portugal, Australia. America, and beyond – a voyage one critic called “a hymn to death and mutilation embellished with a shrug and a giggle”. This time around, the voyage includes vivisection, recreations of old west lynchings, a visit to a mortician’s school, transvestites, wild sex clubs and alligator hunting. This conclusion to the original worldwide box-office hit helped establish the entire mondo movement and made it’s skreechingly annoying theme song, “MORE!” an international hit. English Narration. Directed by Gualtiero Jacopetti. Narration by Gualtiero Jaeopel. Photo by Antonio Climati, Benito Frattar. Music by Nine Oliviero, Riz Ortolani. Italy 1961 color. |

AFRICANA No, this is not just any mondo sleazo film; this is historically important cinematic trash. Long before the Italian Mondo Canes established the genre in the mid sixties, this American made shockumentary set the groundwork. Although supposedly a 'serious' documentary the filmakers went out of their way to film the weird and wicked -- safari hunts, manhood initiation ceremonies, hot coal walkers, frenzied religious ceremonies where the participants pierce their bodies and so on. This film so perfectly foreshadowed the 1960's mondo craze that the distributors later retitled and re-released it as "Mondo Africana". An important historical ditty for sleaze connoisseurs. Narrated by Quentin Reynolds. For mature audiences only. USA 80 min. |

GO, GO, GO, WORLD! An outstanding entry in the Italian Mondo-craze sweepstakes. This one is quite faithful to the original Mondo Cane format complete with snide narration and the obligatory near naked babes in teeny bikinis. Along the way there are visits to a restaurant that serves up delicious dog meat dishes, mudwrestling clubs, a chastity belt store, bizarre funeral rites, snake charmers, bloodsuckers and a hidden-camera expose into the local baby selling and slave markets! Unanimously voted by our staff as one of the trashiest sleaze films we've ever released. ITALY 1964 Color.

WITCHDOCTOR IN TAILS This is another outstanding entry in the Italian Mondo cinema sweepstakes. In true Mondo form the film starts off with a visit to a slaughterhouse and then takes off on a non-stop sonic run through Africa in search of firewalkers, Snake charmers, babes In bikinis and anything strange and unusual. Finally, the film ties everything together with a special focus on witchdoctors and their sundry rites and mutilations. English narration by George Sanders. Italy, 1966 96 minutes.

AFRICA
BLOOD & GUTS From the producers of the Mondo Canes comes this violent document of a continent in transition; the change from white colonialism to independent black statehood. Often times, this resulted in the wholesale massacre of thousands of people and the indiscriminate extermination of wild life. Captured on film are mercenary killer squads wiping out entire villages, executions, Mau-Mau massacres and more! Graphic, Violent and disturbing. For mature audiences only. 1964, Italy, color.
English narration. |
