The rush lane, defined

Rush isn't a favor. It's a pre-built production lane with documented response times.

NYFA Video maintains a permanent standby roster — crew, gear, and edit bays — for assignments that have to ship today, tonight, or by tomorrow morning's editorial meeting. The same cameras, the same colorists, the same producers you would book on a three-week timeline; assembled in hours, not days.

01

Breaking news & desk feeds

Raw ENG packages, soundbites, and stand-ups for network desks and digital wires. Footage uploaded via LTN, LiveU, or your house FTP the moment the card's offloaded.

The rush choreography

From the phone call to the uploaded file — four steps, no improvisation.

The rush path is rehearsed. Every handoff is scripted, every truck is pre-packed, every edit bay is warm. Here is exactly what happens between your intake call and your finished file.

  1. 01

    Intake & crew dispatch

A producer returns your call within 30 minutes, locks the brief, confirms gear, and dispatches crew from our 22 in-house roster or the 140+ vetted freelance bench. Call sheet in your inbox within the hour.

    T-0 → T+1 hr
  2. 02

    On-location shoot

A two- to four-person ENG or cinema crew arrives with shoulder-mounted ARRI Alexa Mini, RED Komodo, or Sony FX9 packages, wireless lavs, and on-camera lighting. Producer on set for client sign-off.

    T+2 hr → T+6 hr
  3. 03

    Parallel edit & rough cut

Footage offloads into our 12,000 sq ft Midtown facility the moment the truck rolls back. A dedicated editor — never the same editor covering three jobs — cuts a rough within six hours for breaking-news clients.

    T+4 hr → T+10 hr
  4. 04

    Color, graphics & delivery

DaVinci Resolve-certified colorist handles the final grade. In-house motion-graphics suite adds lower-thirds, stings, and aspect-ratio cuts for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and YouTube. Uploaded to your wire before midnight.

    T+10 hr → T+18 hr
On-call, on-record

Rush coverage at the level of outlets that cannot afford a missed frame.

"When the markets close at four, we need footage on the wire by seven. NYFA Video is the only Manhattan shop we've found that treats the rush lane like a real lane — same producer, same cameras, same colorist. They've never missed a deadline in eighteen months of on-call work."

Senior Producer, Business & Markets Desk Bloomberg LP — verified public client since 2022

"We booked them at 11 a.m. for a same-day earnings package, and the rough cut landed in our dropbox at 4:47 p.m. — eight minutes before our internal embargo. The motion-graphics team even rebuilt our lower-thirds template without us asking. That's the difference between a vendor and a partner."

Director of Brand Communications Glossier — verified public client since 2021

Additional verified on-call clients include Reuters, Bumble, Harry's, and the New York Yankees' in-house creative team. Public credits available on request.

Questions buyers ask at 11 p.m.

What a rush buyer actually needs to know.

What's the actual response window from first call to crew on the street?

For Manhattan assignments, our producer-confirmed dispatch window is 60 to 90 minutes during business hours, and under three hours overnight. Brooklyn, Queens, Hoboken, and Newark run 90 to 120 minutes by car. We stage one fully packed ENG truck and one cinema truck 24/7 for breaking-news on-call clients — that truck is rolling in under 45 minutes from the green light.

How large a crew can you field on short notice, and what's your gear ceiling?

A standard rush ENG package is two to three crew with shoulder-mounted ARRI Alexa Mini or RED Komodo, wireless lavs, and on-camera LED lighting. We can scale to a six-person cinema crew with dolly, jib, and a tethered DIT cart inside four hours. Our permanent bench is 22 full-time; the on-call freelance bench of 140+ DPs, gaffers, and editors is curated against the active call sheet, not pulled from a marketplace.

What geography do you cover, and do you travel outside the tri-state?

Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Hoboken, Jersey City, and Newark are all standard same-day dispatch. Westchester and Long Island add roughly 90 minutes of drive time. For rush work outside the tri-state, we run a flight-out crew with a backup local freelancer — quote varies by destination and gear freight, but we can usually have boots on the ground anywhere in the continental U.S. within 24 hours.

What deliverables come back, and what's the format / turnaround per cut?

A standard rush package includes a broadcast-safe ProRes 422 HQ master, an H.264 web master, and our proprietary "Shoot-to-Platform" cuts — vertical 9:16, square 1:1, and horizontal 16:9 — pre-graded for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and YouTube. Breaking-news clients receive an uncolored rough cut in under six hours; the final graded package ships within 18 hours of wrap. Caption files and a pull-quote edit are included on request.

How is rush pricing structured, and what does a same-day call actually cost?

Rush work is flat-rate, line-itemed, and quoted before the truck rolls. A half-day ENG package with rough-cut delivery starts at $4,800; a same-day cinema package with full color and platform cuts starts at $9,400. Standing on-call contracts with our 14 Fortune 500 clients receive pre-negotiated hourly rates and a 12% rush discount in exchange for monthly minimums. Quotes are returned within 60 minutes of the intake call — every time.
